Support for Veterans and Military Families

Committed to Supporting Health and Veterans in Crisis

At our core, we dedicate our time and efforts to making a real difference. Whether it's assisting with medical needs or offering a lifeline through the crisis veterans hotline, we are here to provide unwavering support. Our mission is to ensure that individuals receive the help they need, whether they're navigating health challenges or facing critical moments. Every day, we strive to bring care, compassion, and solutions to those who need it most.

We are committed to supporting our local veterans by assisting them with their everyday needs. This includes providing transportation to and from medical appointments, supplying necessary medical equipment, and building wheelchair ramps. We organize fundraisers to fund these crucial projects, ensuring our veterans receive the care and support they deserve.

Community Services in Whitmire

American Legion Eli Farrah Post 70 is deeply involved in the Whitmire community. We host a chicken stew every October and February, along with a Boys State and Girls State banquet. Our annual Bikes in the Ponds ride and various ceremonies for Labor Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day bring the community together. We also proudly participate in the annual Christmas parade, fostering a sense of unity and celebration.

What Sets Us Apart

Our hearts truly make us stand out. We don't just offer a little support; we give a whole lot. At American Legion Eli Farrah Post 70, we go above and beyond for our veterans and active military, both in our immediate community and the surrounding areas. Our dedication and commitment to their well-being are unparalleled.

"Honoring Heroes in Their Final Days"

As part of the American Legion, Eli Farrah Post 70, our members participate in the Veterans Last Patrol, visiting veterans in nursing homes, veterans' homes, and hospice to honor them in their final days. In one instance, they honored a veteran in hospice, sharing laughter and fellowship, awarding certificates, and offering salutes and gratitude. As they departed, the courageous veteran returned a final salute and took his last breath, knowing he was appreciated, loved, and cared for.
